Abstract

This paper deals with an integrated vendor buyer supply chain and investigates the impact of lead time reduction on the modified continuous review inventory system where lead time and ordering cost reductions act dependently. Two models are constructed based on the probability distribution of the lead time demand. The objective of this paper is to minimize the total system cost by simultaneously optimizing the order quantity, lead time and reorder point. Moreover, the lead time demand is assumed to be normally distributed. A procedure of finding the optimal solution is developed. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis is included and the numerical examples are given to illustrate the results. Finally, the graphical representation is presented to illustrate the model.
